The Outpost Armory

The Outpost Armory opened in 2009 with a simple idea: be the place where a first-time shooter and a seasoned expert both feel equally at home. Family-owned and operated, it has grown into a 24,000-square-foot facility on Beasie Road just off I-24, anchored by a 10,000-square-foot pro shop of curated, hard-to-find firearms, ammunition, and gear, with custom orders for anything not in the case.

The range is the heart of it. Seventeen climate-controlled lanes run across three distances, including three 100-yard lanes that make this the only 100-yard indoor rifle range in Tennessee. Modern ventilation and digital target retrieval keep it comfortable and safe, you can rent a firearm to try before you buy, and you can even book the Barrett Experience to send a .50 caliber round downrange.

What sets the place apart is the teaching. The instructors bring over a hundred years of combined experience, working with everyone from brand-new owners to law enforcement, and the range safety officers are certified in both range safety and medical first response. Classes run the full range, from First Shots for new owners to defensive pistol and rifle work, shotgun fundamentals, and the Tennessee Enhanced Carry Permit class. It is a welcoming, safety-first place where responsible ownership starts the moment you walk in.
